About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren, and I am a law student and engineer beneath the sun, and a writer, photographer, and cook once the light fades. Curiosity, I've found, tends to spill past whatever edges you give it. The same curiosity that pulls me into legal research is the thing that keeps me in the kitchen at midnight trying to reverse-engineer a recipe. My interests have always had a gift for finding each other.

For years my words, recipes, and photographs lived quietly tucked away in notebooks, camera rolls, and flour-dusted countertops. They were safe there. Then a dear friend planted a small seed of courage, and I began writing in secret on a private Substack. What started as a gentle experiment slowly unfurled into something more. Two publications bloomed, Essays Written and Recipes Written, and suddenly the pieces of me wanted a real home.

This website is that home. A living garden where my different selves can grow side by side, season by season.

I have always preferred being behind the lens rather than in front of it. Sharing still feels like stepping into the light without the armor of solitude. But I’m learning that perfectionism is just fear wearing a fancy dress. So I’m doing it anyway... messy, unfinished, slightly scared, and full of heart.

But also, I’m doing it hopeful. I’m doing it because the only way these little seeds ever reach the right soil is if they first leave my hands.

And so here I am writing, cooking, capturing light, and offering it to those with a curious spirit.

Thank you for wandering through. I hope something here feels like home to you, too.

Cheers to doing it scared, anyway ✨
